My Story

This quote rings true in art and in life. My journey to A Winding Line has been one of twists and turns. I grew up baking with my mom and will forever associate the smell of chocolate chip cookies with my parents' home. During the pandemic, my love of baking converged with my love of art in the form of sugar cookies. I took a few online classes and was hooked! After being approached by several friends to inquire about ordering cookies, I decided to open my own small business! The idea of a small business has been bubbling for several years and my cookie obsession was the tipping point for taking the plunge. A Winding Line will offer custom cookies, pop-up sales, holiday features, and eventually whimsical art, all of which will be featured here on this site! Thanks for stopping by...I'm excited to share my love of art and baking with you!

A Winding Line offers graphic arts cookies which allows for incredible detail. Graphics can be provided by you or designed by me! Photos, artwork, logos (with permission), birth announcements...you name it! It can go on a cookie with beautiful detail! Need logo cookies for a business meeting? Want wedding or party favors? Looking for fun (and yummy) placecards? We've got you covered!

I can put your logo (with permission) on a 3" round cookie! These are perfect for corporate events, vendor events, or any time you want to show off your company's logo! Awesome for local businesses, realtors, schools, and more!

PAINT-YOUR-OWN
Paint-Your-Own cookies are SO much fun! I can do nearly any shape cookie. The 'paint' is a high-density food color that works like watercolor. Each Paint-Your-Own cookie comes with a paint palette and a food-safe paintbrush. These make wonderful activities for birthday parties, wedding showers, office parties, or Girls Night Out fun! I even made 'Ugly Christmas Sweater' cookies and the families painted them...and then voted to see which was the ugliest! So fun!
$6 per Paint-Your-Own set (includes cookie, paint palette, and paintbrush...packaged with a bow).
COOKIE CLASSES
As a former 3rd grade teacher and current faculty member in the College of Education at Clemson, I love teaching! I can teach children and/or adults! Contact me to schedule a cookie class for a birthday party, holiday party, Girls Night Out, business engagement event, or just for some family fun! I am also happy to package cookies for you with icing, sprinkles, and instructions for decorating your own cookies at home!

SUGAR COOKIE FLAVORS
My signature flavor is Brown Butter Vanilla and it is divine! You can also choose my delicious Madagascar Vanilla or Vanilla Almond sugar cookie recipes for your custom order. I only use artisan ingredients, including pure vanilla bean paste, so your cookies are sure to be full of flavor! Whenever possible, I source local ingredients, too!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

I am operating under South Carolina Cottage Law as a home baker, so I am not able to ship cookie orders at this time. I am based in Anderson, SC and pick ups will be in the Ingles parking lot on Highway 81 (2404 SC-81, Anderson, SC) unless we make other arrangements.

Cookies are approximately 3" and come individually heat sealed. Cookies are then boxed and tied with a ribbon so they can be used as a gift if so desired.

There is a one dozen minimum per order unless otherwise specified on the website. For orders less than one dozen, please contact me for pricing.

My cookies are made from scratch, to order, especially for you! For this reason, I cannot accept cancellations less than two weeks from the delivery date since artisan ingredients will have already been ordered and I will have already begun designing your graphics.

I typically need a two week notice for cookie orders, but booking earlier is better since my calendar tends to get pretty full, especially around the holidays! However, please reach out and I will always do my best to fit you in my schedule.

Invoices must be paid in full to reserve your place on my calendar. You may cancel your order and I will provide a refund up to two weeks before the due date. If you need to cancel with less than two weeks notice, no refunds can be issued. However, sugar cookies stay fresh for 2-3 weeks and can also be frozen for up to 3 months (see Cookie Care below). So, you can always save your cookies for a later time if plans change.

Cookie Care:
Decorated sugar cookies stay their freshest for two to three weeks in their heat sealed wrappers. Do not refrigerate your cookies! The humidity from the fridge can ruin the designs and dry out the cookies. They are kept best on the kitchen counter in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Cookies can be frozen for up to 3 months. Place them in an airtight container (in their heat sealed wrappers) and set them in the freezer. When ready to enjoy them again, place the container UNOPENED on your counter for a minimum of 3 hours. Ensure cookies are completely thawed and at room temperature before opening.
